Six Liverpool Players Who Are Banned From Touching ‘This is Anfield’ Sign
Manchester United's 7-0 hammering at the hands of their rivals has been all anyone can speak about recently in the football world. The jokes towards the Red Devils have been endless and no United fan has come out of it unscathed. Many were angry and looking for an outlet for all the emotions they had after the defeat. A section of United fans may have found a whole new reason to blame their loss on- Wout Weghorst.
The Dutch striker was seen touching the Anfield sign before the game and this has driven fans into a frenzy. Anyone who knows the sign's history would tell you that it was a bad idea from the start. Weghorst spoke about the incident later trying to clarify why he did it, turns out he was trying to stop his national team captain, Virgil Van Dijk, from touching the sign to wind him up before the game. Looks like the plan didn't go quite according to plan.
Even when Jurgen Klopp became manager of Liverpool back in 2015, he warned his players about touching the Anfield sign before winning a trophy. Weird right?
