Alania Vladikavkaz 2 - Rangers 7 - August 1996

Rangers qualified for the Champions League with an amazing 7-2 victory over the Russian Champions, Alania Vladikavkaz. Ally McCoist scored in the first minute and completed his hat-trick within the next eighteen minutes. Alania threatened a comeback by making the score 3-2, but after Peter van Vossen added another goal just before half-time, Rangers controlled the game. In the second half, Brian Laudrup scored twice and Charlie Miller completed the scoring in the final minutes.
