Harvesting 3 containers of Potatoes.
Harvesting 3 containers of Potatoes. Did I get a giant? A few containers have been showing signs of having multiple potatoes rather than just a single potato in, so today I am harvesting 3 buckets in order to see what is going on. We still have 5 or 6 buckets of potatoes in which to leave growing in the hope we get that giant potato and get close to a world record.

The buckets used today are all from https://www.oaklandgardens.co.uk and are 40 and 45 litres. I used these over the normal 30-litre containers as I wanted to allow enough space should we manage to get a large potato.
We find out that potatoes do not like a growing medium with perlite or vermiculite in, as everything I do towards getting a World Record is trial and error it only goes to show that something this basic can have such an effect on the potatoes
Will one of the next 5 or 6 containers have that elusive massive potato I am looking for? who knows, but it is fun trying lots of different things
