News 9's 4th Of July Hot Dog Eating Contest

News 9 held its own hot dog eating contest on Thursday, following the excitement of the 2024 Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, where Mickey Sudo and Patrick Bertoletti emerged as champions.

Sudo set a women's world record with 51 hot dogs and buns, marking her 10th career win. Bertoletti claimed victory in the men's division with 58 hot dogs and buns, while 16-time champion Joey Chestnut was absent due to a sponsorship conflict.

Inspired by the national event, News 9 producer Bailey organized a local contest at the station.
