U-S President-elect George W. Bush has agreed to meeting soon with South Korean President Kim Dae-jung soon to discuss bilateral relations and coordinate policy toward communist North Korea.
News of the meeting came shortly after phone call between the two leaders.
Kim called Bush on Saturday morning to congratulate him on his election and stressed the importance of close cooperation with the United States and Japan in dealing with North Korea.

President-elect Bush apparently said he wanted to maintain a close cooperative relationship with President Kim to promote peace on the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Northeast Asia.
Bush and Kim agreed to hold a summit in the near future but the date has yet to be decided.
Kim has been seeking rapprochement with North Korea since he met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Il at a historic summit in June.
He has also urged the United States and Japan to improve ties with the isolated, communist state.
Few South Korean officials expect a drastic change in U.S. policy toward North Korea under Bush.
Past U-S administrations, Republican and Democrat, have sought to reduce the threat of war on the divided Korean peninsula and supported South Korean efforts to seek peace.
Seoul officials expect Republican policy-makers under Bush will be tougher in dealing with North Korea's missile and nuclear programs.
