2016 Watch - Bulevardul Magheru, Bucharest, Romania

The Romanian capital is facing a crisis. A built environment of great historical, social, and symbolic significance is threatened by the abandonment and demolition of historic buildings, uncontrolled development, and inappropriate rehabilitation. Bucharest is included on the 2016 World Monuments Watch to create public pressure to improve this dramatic situation.

Produced by ProDoMo and the Pro Patrimonio Foundation with support from World Monuments Fund, this video illustrates the poor condition of one of Bucharest’s most emblematic streets, Magheru Boulevard.
