پیوست ترے جسم میں وہ نیزوں کے دھارے
کس طرح بھلائیں وہ قیامت کے نظارے
اسلاف کی عظمت کی تو رفعت کی امیں تھی
روشن تری کس قدر وہ اک پاک جبیں تھی
پر نور و معطر وہ فضا کتنی حسین تھی
قربان تری شان پہ گردُوں کے ستارے
ذہنوں میں بسی ہیں تیری آذاں کی صدائیں
آنگن میں وہ چلتی ہوئی جنت کی ہوائیں
ہم کیسے تری عظمت و صورت کو بھلائیں
ایمان سے بھرپور تھے پُرکیف نظارے
رستا ہوا تو امتِ مسلم کا زخم ہے
شرمندہ و نادم ہیں عیاں چہروں پہ غم ہے

روتی ہے ہر اک آنکھ یہاں درد کے مارے
کیوں سویا ہوا ہے تو بتا مردِ مسلماں

اٹھ باندھ کمر تجھ کو بلاتے ہیں وہ قرآں
روتے ہوئے ملبے تلے منظر ہیں جو سارے
یلغار ایوبی کی طرح پھر سے جھپٹ کر
دہرائیں گے تاریخ کے اوراق الٹ کر
ہاں بدلہ بھی ہم لیں گے کرو عہد پلٹ کر

You were the keeper of greatness of the forefathers exaltation
