When Nelly’s debut album Country Grammar was released in 2000, it introduced the world to another brand of hip-hop that didn’t carry an east coast or west coast sound. It had its own distinct southern sound, and his album marked its arrival in mainstream music.
Nelly had continued success in the 2000s and became one of the hottest rappers of the decade. He also embarked on an acting career starring in Adam Sandler’s 2005 movie, The Longest Yard.
