Channel locks
1/4" nut driver
Flat head screwdriver
Step-by-step how-to instructions for replacing the lid lock latch assembly (part number W10404050) in a Maytag (Whirlpool) Washer (model number MVWC300BW1)
1. Unplug washer and turn off water
2. Open washer lid
3. Remove softener dispenser
4. Remove dust cap
5. Remove agitator bolt
6. Lift up on upper agitator to remove
7. Remove cam from old upper agitator
8. Place cam in new upper agitator
9. Place upper agitator assembly on base
10. Replace agitator bolt
11. Replace dust cap
12. Replace softener dispenser
13. Close washer lid
14. Plug in, turn on water, and give it a test run!
