🔺19 - Moment of a Couple 2D: Example 1 - 3

In this video we are going to learn how to determine the moment of a couple in a 2 dimensional space

A couple is defined as two parallel forces having the same magnitude but opposite direction and separated by a perpendicular distance d.
The moment of a couple is called couple moment and it is given by
Mc = Fd, where
F = the magnitude of one of the force and d = is the perpendicular distance between the two forces.

Equivalent Couples: Two couples are said to be equivalent if they produce a moment with the same magnitude and direction.
thus
F1d1 = F2d2

Resultant Couple Moment: Given more than one couple,
the Mcr = F1d1 + F2d2 + Fndn....

We shall solve three examples in this video.
