Using hydrogen peroxide for wounds

Hydrogen peroxide fizz is satisfying, however it really isn’t promoting healing— it kills both normal cells and germs. Plus, it causes irritation.  Instead:
1. Use clean water and mild soap AROUND the wound.
2. Gently apply the petroleum jelly to the wound. This will keep the wound moist. A moist wound heals faster.
3. Cover with a bandage.
4. Keep an eye on it.  If redness, oozing or pain increases, call your provider.
