YAMAHA KX-650 - rookie repair, will it work? - 3 head vintage Hi-Fi cassette deck

This time I have one great vintage 3 head Hi-Fi cassette deck, beautifully engendered and efficiently built. The problem is the deck is not paying or recording tapes.
