When it comes to business, LinkedIn is the leading social network, with over 630 million users and over 303 million accessing the site on a monthly basis.
Over 30 million companies can be found on the site, and 20 million job openings and 100 million job applications are placed on LinkedIn every month. But LinkedIn is more than an employment or recruiting tool – it has evolved to become the leading business networking
site for people to connect and share information across all industries.
Adding video to LinkedIn used to be cumbersome, but in recent years LinkedIn has rolled out native video upload capabilities, increasing the volume of video content being shared on the site

overnight.

The platform is now awash with video – 61% of marketers planned to use video content on LinkedIn in 2019, up from 38% in 2017. Yet it’s still the easiest way to standout, share your message and connect with business prospects and leads. Here’s how:

Natively Upload Video Your LinkedIn Feed - From Desktop
Step 1: In the main feed, go to “Start a Post” and click the middle camera icon.
Step 2: Select the desired video from anywhere on your computer.
- File size for video upload on Linkedin is a minimum of 75KB up to a maximum of 5GB
- Videos must be a minimum of 3 seconds up to a maximum of 10 minutes
Step 3: Once your video is selected, you can edit the video file if needed. To continue,
click “Next” in the bottom right corner.
Step 4: Add a description to your post, and select who can view your post – Anyone,
Anyone + Twitter, or Connections Only. In the advanced settings, you can also select
whether to allow comments or not. You can also add hashtags to your video post to
make your video more findable.
Step 5: Click “Post” on the bottom right corner to publish your video.

Uploading from Mobile
Step 1: Open the Linkedin App. In the main feed, click the middle “Plus” icon at the
bottom of the screen.
Step 2: Click on the middle “Camera” icon located bottom of screen to record a video,
or select a video from your camera roll by clicking the “Photo Gallery” icon.
Step 3: You can edit your videos to include stickers, as well as text.
Step 4: Click the arrow icon on the bottom right. This will send you back to initial upload
screen, however your chosen video is now attached to your post. From here you can
write a description for your video post, as well as include hashtags to help boost your
video’s visibility.
Step 5: Click ‘Post’ in the top right corner to share your video.

Tip: Linkedin recommends horizontal or square video formats. Also note, native video
uploads will auto-play, which means automatically playing once people scroll past it in their
feed.

Sharing Video Via Links
Although native video posts can reach more people through algorithm preferences, you
can also copy and paste a video link from platforms like Youtube or Vimeo straight into
your LinkedIn feed.
Simply grab the video link, then paste the video link directly into your post. Note video
shared by link doesn’t have auto-play capabilities.
Adding Video To Your Linkedin Profile
Videos in the LinkedIn feed start to become buried by other posts after a few days, but you
can also share a video to remain visible on your profile until you delete or replace it.
Step 1: Go to your profile
Step 2: Click on the section of your profile that you’d like to add video too, like your
‘About’ or ‘Experience’ sections.
Step 3: Scroll to the Media section, where you’ll get the option to Upload or Share
Link
Step 4: Follow the instructions above for each method
Step 5: Click Add, then Save the share.
