The beautiful song 'Sailing for Liberty’s Sweet Shore' performed by Glasgow-based Scottish folk band Barluath, featuring the vocals by Ainsley Hamill. This was part of their concert in the unique setting of a redundant church, St Margarets in Braemar, Scotland, on 10th June 2019.

The song by John Doyle is often associated with the journey from the old world of Europe to the the New World, possibility America. It tells of the cost of a one-way voyage to a new life and the hardships endured along the way.

Barluath embrace both traditional and contemporary music of Scotland, with a mix of Gaelic and English songs together with Highland pipes, fiddle, piano, guitar and Scottish step dance. The group was formed in 2011 by students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Scottish Music course, but a one-off gig for a local Burns Supper led on to much bigger things.
