The Boss DS-1 is undoubtedly one of the most famous distortions in history. Used by loads of guitar players, it has characterized the sound of rock music. From Steve Vai to the grunge, bands like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush have made the sound of this pedal the sonic trademark of a generation. Yet the Boss DS-1 is also one of the most hated pedals out there. Many say that it sounds terrible, too fizzy and that it's impossible to dial in a good sound with it. Today we want to give you five tips to achieve excellent tones with your Boss DS-1.
