Pre-Pearl Harbor actioner, that follows three enlistees -- an Army colonel's estranged son Bill Burke (Edmond O'Brien), football hero Donald Morse (Robert Preston), and hillbilly Jeff Hollis (Buddy Ebsen) through their training in paratroop school at Fort Benning. Between training, there are personal dramas and a romantic rivalry of Bill and Don over their sergeant's daughter (Nancy Kelly).
