In this video, I do a walk around review of the 2013 Chevy Captiva, that we rented for the weekend to go to EL Paso TX.
In my personal experience with small engines, no mater how many horsepower they have, if they have little torque, they are going to keep down shifting with the slightest touch of the gas pedal. On the other hand if you drive a big V8, the mpg will be bad in town, but out on the Highway, they will cruise effortlessly, and will climb most grades without downshifting, saving you gas in the long run.
So my Verdict is: if you randomly make a long trip, and mostly commute to work, in city traffic. A 4 Cylinder is perfect for you.
If you like to cruise on the highway at high speed, get a German Car with a Big V8 or a V12, if you will keep it under 100 MPH than an American V8 Sedan will do just fine.
