About the speakers

Dr. K has over a decade of experience in blockchain technology and is the Co-Founder of Quai Network, a new Layer 1 network of blockchains that scales to handle all human commerce while maintaining true decentralization. Dr. K’s vision for a trustless decentralized replacement for money began in 2018 with a National Science Foundation Research Grant. Dr. K has a PhD in engineering, formerly worked at ConsenSys, and has been active in the crypto space since 2012. He has authored or co-authored dozens of peer-reviewed articles and papers and has contributed to many ground-breaking developments in the crypto space.

David Kinitsky brings extensive experience as an executive, operator, entrepreneur, and investor in the crypto/FinTech industry. He has helped build and run some of the biggest businesses in the space, including Kraken, Circle, Fidelity, Grayscale, and Digital Currency Group. David oversaw Kraken’s US business operations as Managing Director and CEO of its Kraken Bank subsidiary. At Circle, he led corporate development and strategy to restructure the company around its USDC product platform services. He created Fidelity's first dedicated crypto role and co-managed an in-house crypto asset/vc fund. David also built and ran Digital Currency Group subsidiary Grayscale Investments as its founding GM. He began his career as an attorney focused on corporate and securities law. David earned his law degree from Yeshiva University’s Cardozo School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in political economy and physics from the University of California at Berkeley.
