Here is Knox County's oldest, active siren in their system of 23. None of us were sure it worked. The EMA said there was supposed to be a Sentry here, but wasn't sure. I thought, maybe the active siren was somewhere else entirely. So, I asked one of the locals if this was the siren. He said yes, and once the tones rolled through, to everyone's surprise, this one sounded.
Not a whole lot of dual headed Darley's out there. If memory serves me right, this is actually a Sterling, re branded as a Darley. It's pretty small, and not much louder than a Model 2. Towards the end you can hear a Sentry 3V8-H from South Knox Schools four miles away. I enhanced the audio so you could hear it better over the wind noise, but keep in mind it wasn't as loud in real life, but still interesting I heard it that far.
Obviously this siren has issues getting started, but later straightened itself out. I'm thinking it's the brushes, but I could be wrong. Any suggestions are appreciated as the Knox County EMA will also be watching this video.
Enjoy, and as always comment, like, and subscribe for more. Thanks!
