Thought I'd upload a separate video to show the operation which takes place at Edinburgh when the three Sleeper portions join to make one train to continue to London. The video begins just before we pass through Haymarket on our way into Edinburgh onboard the Inverness part of the train. As we arrive we pass the Aberdeen section which has already had the class 90 fitted ready to take the train to London. The Fort William section then backs onto the Aberdeen. 2 of the 4 coaches from the Fort William section are taken off at Edinburgh. Then the Inverness section (part I was on) pulls forward into Platform 7, before backing onto the rest of the train. The 67 is then detached and we are now right at the back of one of the longest passenger trains in Europe! 16 mk3 coaches and a class 90 for the 400 mile run across to Carstairs Junction then all the way down the West Coast Mainline to Euston, departing Edinburgh at 01:38. Quite a skilled operation and definitely an interesting one to watch.

Check out the other video taken on the sleeper the next morning of the beautiful Frosty Sunrise run down the bottle neck of the WCML between Milton Keynes & London during the morning rush hour!

Thanks for watching
