Sabbath celebration in Judaism is at it's core
Not only is keeping the Sabbath or keeping shabbat is the 4th of the 10 Commandments but it is a essential point that is repeated again and again in the Torah ( Jewish Bible)

The sabbath  /shabbat celebration in 2020 in essence is not different than the way we celebrated shabbat in the 19th centuries minus the quarantine/ social distancing  situation! We still enjoy the shabbat food, the same rules on sabbath and guidelines, we do the same prayers as well as great everyone with a heartfelt SHABBAT SHALOM which means peace on your shabbat.  Because when you day of Sabbath is peaceful you cannot truly connect with its essence and your true inner self: your better self, your true holy potential that is expressed through the celebration for your sabbath!
Shabbat is the time of rest not in a a way that we should sleep all day on Shabbat to have more energy on the rest of the days! On the contrary, the sabbath/shabbat is there for us to renew our spiritual energy, our connection with G.d and re-align our true direction in this world, to make sure that our life has a purpose, is meaningful and that we pass to our children , our family our friends and people that we meet this joy of disconnecting from the material things and connect with the ultimate truth and source of Energy: G.od!

If you have more questions on this part 1  what is shabbat please stay tune for the next instalments of this 5 part series on The Sabbath/shabbat as we will answer more questions as well as much much more!
