1.what is meant by the term resonance ?
Ans.
Resonance is defined as the phenomenon of increased amplitude that occurs when the frequency of applied periodic force is equal to the natural frequency of tha body on which it acts.

2.what are forced oscillations?
Ans.
When the oscillating system is driven by a periodic force that is external to oscillating system is known as forced oscillations.

3.what are the sources of error in this experiment?
Ans.
The following are the sources of error in this experiment...
1.background noise
2.drift stemming from temperature
3.the distance between tunning fork and the microphone
4.distance of person from microphone.

4.what are the nodes and antinodes?
Ans .
The node is the point where the amplitude of the wave is zero. Antinodes are the points where the amplitude is maximum (positive or negative) generally on the halfway of adjacent nodes.

5.what is end correction? How do you eliminate it ?
Ans.
End correction is the short distance added of applied to the actual length of resonance pipe in order to calculate the precise resonance frequency of the pipe.

6.state factors on which velocity of sound depends.
Ans.
The velocity of sound depends on the following factors..
1.density of air
2.temprature of medium
3.humadity of air as well as wind flow of air.

7. How does the speed of sound in the given medium vary with the temperature?
The speed of changes at the amount of 6m/second for every degree. Air molecules has more energy at higher temperatures as air vibrates faster and velocity increases.
