An introduction to trading the Calendar spread options strategy to avoid theta time decay. This is my favorite options strategy out there and I don’t think it gets enough recognition especially since it’s easier to trade this just as you would the equity. There are a few things to look out for when opening a calendar spread thought, one major thing I didn’t mention is you generally don’t want to choose your front-month expiration with a lower IV than your back-month.
