Something Special really lived up to its name with a number of first time encounters for us including an Atlantic yellow cowrie, juvenile frogfish, a black point sculling crab and what may be a Sterrer’s cave shrimp.  (Still checking on that one, though.). The shallows are great during the day, but absolutely awesome at night.

Other highlights include a grazing turtle, sharptail eel coming out of its burrow, a juvenile sand diver burying itself in the sand, squid

It’s one of the easier dives on the island as well, although parking can sometimes be an issue as it is quite limited.  But well worth the effort.

We want to encourage more shore diving, so this video provides some guidance where the site is, how to dive it and what you may see there.  If you want to skip to or review specific topics, the section timings are as follows.
