Three new Belgian draft horses take their freedom ride home from almost shipping to slaughter

Episode 92 Because of all of your amazing support, generosity and kindness we were able to raise the funds to rescue the two Belgian Draft horse gelding and the mare from Bowie Texas Livestock. We picked everyone up this week and acquired another traveler while at the livestock yard. When we arrived to pick up the Belgians we went down into the pen area to see the mare because she wasn't in the loading area yet. While we were down there this little standard bred horse kept following us around, just like Blue the donkey did to get us to take her home. When we went back up to the truck this horse followed us to the gate. So me being me...I asked if he was available and they said he was and he was scheduled to ship to slaughter on the next truck. Of course, I wasn't going to let that happen so we loaded him on the truck with the Belgians! I know he doesn't fit the "draft breed" but sometimes everything happens for a reason and you have to make exception for the animals that steal your heart. This video is from their freedom ride and the first days on the farm. The farrier will be here on Saturday and everyone will be to the vet this week.
