Located in the Catskill Mountains of New York are trains from a bygone era decaying on retired tracks. These NYC train cars were all apart of the New York Central(NYC), which started operation in 1875. This new railway connected the Catskills with the Hudson Line, going south to its Terminus in Manhattan, Grand Central Station. The trains didn't just connect the Catskills to New York City, the line also connected West to the Chicago & St Louis line. The peak of the Railway was in 1913, as 700,000 passengers traveled to and from the Catskills. The downfall started with the Great Depression in 1929, with fewer travelers, the tracks would never have the same appeal and grandeur they once had from a different time period. The trains we are exploring today are specifically unknown from my research as to when they are from. In my research, ceiling fans on trains started in the 1920s, so the trains are at oldest 100 years old. I would love for people to comment their thoughts for when they think the passenger cars are from. In total, we are looking at 3 different passenger cars that are accessible, one post office train car, a locomotive, and a streamliner parked at the station stagnant. If you enjoy, leave a thumbs up!
