Proton, a Malaysian automobile company,
Proton, a Malaysian automobile company, has launched its second car in Pakistan. Al-Haj Group is the local partner. Proton Pakistan has introduced Saga in three variants: Standard Manual, Standard Auto, and Ace Auto. There are two more sports variants of the Saga sedan, R3 Manual and R3 Auto, but these are available in a limited edition. Proton has imported 100 CBU units of the sports variants that it will sell to 100 lucky Pakistanis to give the local market a taste of the company’s sports cars division. The company is also selling the CBU units of other three variants. Al-Haj Automotive will start the locally assembly of CKD units of Proton Saga at the manufacturing plant by June 2021.
Proton Saga has a golden history back home in Malaysia. It’s their first-ever locally produced vehicle, known as the national car of Malaysia. In simpler words, Saga is the Mehran of Malaysia, every household in Malaysia has had this car once in their life. First generation of Saga came in 1985 and stayed in trend till 2008. Then came the second generation of Proton Saga, which also had a long run of 8 years. 2016 onward is the third and current generation Saga has now come to Pakistani.
Proton Saga Price in Pakistan
Saga has officially become the most affordable and budget sedan of Pakistan. Proton has priced all variants of this car under 2.5 million rupees. Here are the ex-factory prices of all five variants.

The Standard Automatic and the Ace Automatic variants have the same engine mated to 4-speed CVT automatic transmission.
Competition
Proton Saga Pakistan has entered the compact sedan segment and competes with Honda City, Toyota Yaris, Suzuki Cultus, KIA Picanto, and Changan Alsvin.
