What you read on the motor plate is the power that is mechanically applied to the shaft. These are the actual values that the motor takes up: √3*380V*0.8A*0.55 or √3*220V*1.4A*0.55 I get about 290 watts of power consumption and thus an efficiency of 55 percent BUT you can never really equate cos phi with efficiency. Cos phi is the power factor and the lower this value is ALWAYS! less than 1.00. Cos phi has something to do with the phase shift angle and thus something with real and apparent power. These two things always occur as soon as we do not connect an ohmic consumer to voltage.
