Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's
This video is the second of a series re-creating the role of the Station Pilot. The Station Pilot could be seen at most large stations and whose role was to move stock around within the station limits. Duties included the dismantling and forming of trains at the beginning or end of their journeys.
This film shows a semi fast train arriving and the empty stock is removed and added to Buffet Car. Later this train forms the rear portion of an arriving express.
Later in the film the Station Pilot removes coaching stock from the carriage sidings, deposits the Sleeping Coach for a later train and places the remainder into the station to form another train.
