The Mercado Ver-o-Peso complex, the
The Mercado Ver-o-Peso complex, the largest open-air market in Latin America, is the best-known tourist attraction in Belém do Pará.
In May 2024, work to revitalize the site began.
Firstly because it really needed a renovation.
Secondly, because in 2025 Belém will host the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 30), and everyone prepares before going to a party, do you agree?
We did a complete tour, starting at the street market, crossing the Mercado de Ferro and the Meat Market, passing through the popular shopping streets of Belém to Praça do Relógio, Pedra do Peixe and the Açaí Fair.
From there we continue to the Feliz Lusitânia Complex, the initial nucleus of the Portuguese colonization, formed by the Praça Frei Caetano Brandão, the Catedral Metropolitana da Sé, the Igreja de Santo Alexandre, the Casa das Onze Janelas and the Forte do Castelo, where we finish our today's tour, with a spectacular view of Ver-o-Peso and Guajará Bay.
