In this video Ritesh Lakhi recollects the sequence of events leading to the neutralization of head of Nirankari mission Baba Gurbachan Singh on April 24, 1980. As a sequel to Nirankari kand of 1978 many outfits espousing the cause of Sikhism waited for January 4, 1980 verdict leading to acquittal of Nirankari head Baba Gurbachan Singh in case of clash in 1978. Dissatisfied Sikh bodies treated court verdict as injustice and this led to an immediate plan to target Baba Gurbachan Singh. Bhai Ranjit Singh of Baba Deep Singh Ranjit Akhara planned the plot and infilterated the Nirankari mission as a carpenter in February 1980. Two months down the lane Bhai Ranjit Singh managed to gain access near to Baba Gurbachan Singh's residence and on April 24,1980 made his successful hit as planned.
Later as Bhai Ranjit Singh and his associate one Kabul Singh managed to escape, few years later Bhai Ranjit Singh turned himself in and spent 12 years in incarceration before being released in 1997 following commuting of his sentence by the President of India.
