TRAMPING WAIMAK FALLS HUT - Arthur’s Pass NZ

Waimakariri falls hut is located in the head waters of the Waimak river and is well known to shelter climbers tacking the nearby peaks(Carrington peak, Mt Armstrong). Following the Waimakariri river from Klondyke corner, Carrington Hut will be reached some 3 1/5 - 4 hours later, situated on the true right at the junction of the White and Waimak rivers. Following the track signs from the Carrington hut, a crossing of the White river will be required. Be extra cautious here and only cross if it’s safe. Continue to follow the marked track all the way up the Waimak, staying mainly on the true right. The Waimak Falls hut is located on a large rock above the bridge.
