Outdoor Sump Pump Installation

Installing a sump pump in the back yard to remove standing rain water from the yard. No in ground pipes or drainage tiles are used. Error Correction - 3 feet of gravel, not 3 yards were used in the construction. Status Update. I no longer live where this sump pump was installed. But it worked very well for several years, while I lived there. One problem. Inserting the pump back into the ground in the early spring, through one or two feet of icy cold and dirty water, was difficult. A pair of hip boots helped.
