In October 2023, Australian journalist Chris Uhlmann travelled to Ukraine to film the documentary ‘Forged in Fire’, which was shown on Nine Australia in December 2023.
The documentary featured an interview with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. You can watch the complete interview here. In the interview, President Zelenksyy and Chris Uhlmann discuss the current status of international aid, political support for Ukraine and the importance of unity in defending our shared democratic values.
‘Forged in Fire’ was produced by Screencraft Media, with support from the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) and sponsorship from the Howarth Foundation and others.
The documentary examines the profound connection between Australia and Ukraine following the full-scale Russian invasion. It features an interview with AFUO Co Chair Kateryna Argyrou and promotes the work of the AFUO’s Defend Ukraine Appeal and Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
