Out-loud storytelling for nonfiction writers builds platform and connects us with audiences through podcasts, TED Talks and live events like The Moth. But the process of pitching and creating an engaging story for audio also improves our writing craft.

Our special guest Andrea Askowitz is a 14-time Moth runner-up and a Moth StorySlam winner who hosted a storytelling show in Miami and has told stories out loud for 25 years, always in service to her writing for the page.

Co-host Allison K Williams is a 3-time Moth StorySlam winner and twice Moth MainStage performer whose audio tales have been heard on Snap Judgment, CBC’s Definitely Not the Opera and CBC’s Love Me. She also received a grant from the state of Michigan to create and perform her one-woman show TRUE STORY, which sold out Fringe Festival theatres around the world.

Join Allison K Williams (SEVEN DRAFTS), Sharla Yates (CRAFT TALKS) and special guests for this lively, funny hour of frank talk about author platform, audience engagement, and just plain getting people to read your book.
