The EDITORS’ CHOICE Tyre Of The Year | AUTA 2022

Although the data from the tests at Asia’s Ultimate Tyre Awards (AUTA) reveal plenty about the tyres' performance, qualities such as driving feel and feedback cannot be measured, yet are just as important. For this, we get the Managing Editors from two of Singapore’s premier motoring publications to weigh in on their favourite tyre of the year. Recounting both its performance at AUTA as well as more than 30 years combined of road test experience, veteran automotive journalists Joel Tam (Burnpavement.com) and Sheldon Trollope (evo Singapore) unanimously agreed on the new Pirelli P ZERO (PZ4) as the tyre that had the best match, especially for local driving conditions. It finished a close second in the overall results, and was the outright best tyre in the wet during our tests, a critical factor for our tropical climate.
