So is burned skin turned yellow inside, it is really infected. To understand this we need to know that when skin gets burned, it gets classified into different grades depending on the depth of the burn. So grade 1 would be when there is involvement to the epidermis or the superficial skin and what you see is just inflamed red skin which is painful but there is no formation of blisters, Grade 2 would be when there is involvement of the epidermis and the superficial dermis. So what you would see is the redness, formation of blisters, pain and also inflammatory sign. The next sign is Grade 3 were there is involvement of the epidermis and the dermis, which is usually a full thickness. So that would mean that the base of the skin is yellowish or blackish or charred. So these are the three grades of skin when it is burned. So immediately after the burn if you see that the area is a little yellowish. That mean it is a deeper burn, usually the subcutaneous level and you will have to rush to the doctor immediately. But for instance when a burn has happened, after few hours or days you tend to see a change with the nature of the burn, that is the skin starts to get a bit yellowish, there is purulent or a yellowish discharge associated with a little bit of pain, inflammation, redness etc. This means that the burn scar is turning out to be infected. Also you will notice few signs or feverish feelings, chills etc. So these are the two reasons when you can judge whether a burned skin is turning into something infected.
