"Modern Australia" theme. There was no Mystery Box challenge this week, instead the contestants faced a pizza making challenge. Fiona was the victor and picked tropical fruit as the Invention Test's core ingredient. Many struggled with this sweet choice, while Marion's risky recipe paid off and she was declared the winner.
Thousands auditioned, as judges Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston scoured the country to handpick Australias best home cooks, selecting the Top 24 to join them in Melbournes MasterChef kitchen. Though competitors in the kitchen, the contestants share an unrivalled passion for cooking. Celebrated Sydney chef Kylie Kwong also joins as a regular guest mentor this season, guiding the contestants through the Immunity Challenges. Also featuring are International superstar Nobu Matsuhisa and culinary legend Marco Pierre White the godfather of modern cooking who spends a week mentoring this great bunch of cooks, putting them through their paces like no one else can. In the latest season, also visiting the MasterChef Kitchen are legendary Michelin starred chefs Heston Blumenthal and Vikas Khanna, and Australian celebrity chefs Curtis Stone, Peter Gilmore and Shannon Bennett.
