Coral Award for "Best Documentary Series for Television" at the 9th Festival of New Latin American Cinema, Havana, 1987.
A search for the traditions and forgotten history of the Pewenche people, a community of nomadic hunters from the pre-Andean pampas of southern Argentina and Chile, who for thousands of years lived off the pine nut, the fruit of the Araucaria Chilensis, Pewen in the Mapuche language, the most notable tree of the Andes mountain range. Made in 1986-87, it was one of the first documentaries on the ethnography of the Indigenous Peoples of Chile in Al Sur del Mundo. It gained significant relevance because it made visible the Mapuche Pewenche rights over Quinquen and contributed to the first expropriation from private individuals by the state of Chile, for its return to the original owners.
