Lost Footage of Ken Kutaragi's final speech as PlayStation CEO - TGS 2006 Keynote

[JP Version Now Available Here: 久夛良木 健 PlayStation CEOとしての最後のスピーチ - T...] -- I can't recall whether we had our suspicions or not at the time I recorded this on Sep 22, 2006 at the Tokyo Game Show, but shortly after(*) this keynote presentation speech, Ken would no longer be head of the Sony PlayStation empire he built from scratch. Which makes this almost certainly his final major presentation as SCE boss, and I guess makes this "lost footage" historically important. And I say lost footage because I never published this at the time (not even clips) and I'm quite sure no one else did either; to this day there's not a shred of it on YouTube that I can find. I think there are three reasons it's nowhere to be seen and once again I may be the only one to have it: (1) the video platform at the back of this conference room was very small and there were only a few of us there, chances are no one else still has a full recording; (2) in 2006 it was still very rare for an hour-long video of anything to be put online in full, with the exception of the big three E3 conferences maybe (and even those only just started going online in full 1-2 years before this, tops!). And (3), this presentation's bit of a slog to be honest... rather "heavy viewing" mostly due to some of Ken's passion being throttled through a pair of less excitable (if reasonably proficient) interpreters, but also because, well, half the time, probably even the Japanese in the room had no idea what Ken was talking about... some of the concepts were very forwards-looking and actually sound a bit like hot topics of recent years, even. I can't be bothered to watch through and summarize topics into chapters right now, but will add that if anyone is thrilled at the prospect of sitting through and figuring out what he's saying. However, he did also include (as restored here) a series of trailers for Ridge Racer 6, Virtua Fighter 5, Gundam, Final Fantasy XIII (near the start) and Afrika (at the end).

Anyway, I figure this material is basically never-before-seen, and worth releasing and preserving -- I hope someone finds it useful/interesting.

If there is any interest I can also add the Japanese language track (assuming YouTube ever unlocks incredibly advanced features like "multiple-language audio" or even "chapters" for peasant accounts like mine... sigh).

* In Nov 2006, Kutaragi was "promoted" to "chairman" of SCEI and retaining the CEO position in theory, and Kaz Hirai took over big boss duties - but just a few months later in April 2007, Sony said Ken was "retiring" and would instead have the role of "Honorary Chairman" - really he was pushed out because PS3 architecture and economics were a kind of a shitshow. But that's all history now and FWIW I think Ken is amazing and was always thoroughly decent with us media.
