Joint Replacement - Moving After Surgery - Patient Education

This short demonstration video will help you stay safe while recovering from your joint replacement surgery at Union Hospital. Patients are often helped out of bed the same day as their surgery. Safety is one of our top priorities at Union Health. Watch for trip hazards, like an IV pole, which may cause a fall risk or injury. Make sure to walk with a Union Health staff member for assistance. Use a walker for added stability in case you loose your balance getting in and out of bed or walking. Use a gait belt that will provide additional support.
