MY NOTES:
INFINIX NOTE 8 - One Month Review

1) Design
GOOD
- It looks premium for me (subjective)
- It feels thin and sleek
- that gradient look with lines is gorgeous.
- The Blue-pearl like variant looks very much premium.
- its trendy and and looks current along with other popular designs today.
BAD
- Fingerprint magnet.
- I prefer using my phone without a case, but in this case, I have no choice but to use it with a phone case. I hate the oily look.
- The size is perfect for people like me with big hands

THE SCREEN:
- It's 6.95in LCD display
- at 720P resolution
- It projects lively colorful but not AMOLED level punchy
- Decent for overall viewing pleasure.

2) Cameras
- Slow-mo mode
- Decent pictures but not so great
- Very fast and snappy camera
- There is a PRO mode
- Short Video for TikTokers
- SUPER NIGHT mode is good for scenes with some light source but not on pitch black scenes
- low light images are okay, but not great.
- BOKEH effect has manual aperture mode
- I recommend activating EYE AUTOFOCUS for less out of focus images
- OTHER FEATURES: Panorama, Beauty, AR Shot, Documents (uses Google Lens), dual front cam flash, quad rear flash,

VERDICT:
- The camera does not disappoint. It's not perfect but does not disappoint especially considering the price.

Great features
- Thunder back is my favorite
- Game mode is useful (No notification and all other calls are minimized)
- Speaker is superb with real stereo left and right effect.
- calls are crispy clear
- punchy color display at 6.95in but not AMOLED level punchy.
- 720p resolution makes playing and media entertainment much longer
- VLC player fixes the black bar issue w/ its fit screen feature
- the 18W charger can fully recharge my phone in an hour and a half on average
- mobile data is stable and reliable, at least on my experience

FOR GAMING:
- The screen size is perfect for gaming.
- you get wider estate without both your hands occupying parts of the screen.
- It can run all game titles in the Play Store 100% for now.
- BUT, with the Helio G80 chipset, manage your expectations.
- For heavy games, adjust to mid or LOW graphics settings.
- CODM runs smoothly on Medium graphics at High frame rates with some warmer feels after 4hours+ of game play.
- Happy to say that it never felt overheating, at least on my experience, gaming on it.

THE BADS:
- no noise cancellation mic at the top
- uses only a single mic. Not reliable during gameplay especially on CODM experience so I use a headset.
- WiFi connection randomly disconnects on normal settings. BUT I found a fix! So all is good now.
- low-light video is grainy (as expected for the price)
- The last update made the system a bit battery hungry for some reasons
- Before, I can confidently use my phone until the afternoon of the next day. Now, I can only use it until past midnight.
- It can still be used reliably longer but the change of longevity sucks.

OVERALL VERDICT
- It fits its price for now.
- The camera is best for typical video and picture-taking especially for social media use.
- YES, Redmi Note 10 is better for many reasons like the AMOLED and the chipset features.
- BUT I got a hold and feel of the phone courtesy of my friend Jon Jon and I'd say I made the right decision choosing this gem.
- One is because gameplay is better with bigger or wider screen for me
- Second is I watch a lot of movies and TV series and that screen is a sweet spot between a tablet and a smartphone screen size.
- So for me personally, it's definitely made for my preferences.

IS THIS FOR YOU?
- that depends.
- if you are a heavy gamer and you require power and raw performance more than anything else, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.
- If you are a social media user and likes selfies and videos stuff, this is for you.
- If you are a balance of casual gamer and media user, like me, this is for you.
