The ceylon stitch worked in loops like a knitted structure. I have seen it used for depicting cute sweaters and it works very well to add more texture into your embroidery project. Use it as a filling stitch but be aware, that it might be difficult to cover very large areas with this stitch. Keep the loops loose or tight to alter their appearance.
The ceylon stitch works best for regular straight shapes. I used it here for a tear-shape and it was quite hard to fill the bulging sides properly. So be aware of that. It might be necessary to add more loops to the sides if you want to work something like a circle or irregular shapes.
