Sara Montiel es considerada uno de los mitos más importantes del espectáculo en lengua española, tanto por sus éxitos en cine y música como por su espectacular belleza. Sigue siendo un icono o figura de culto, admirada por público de gustos muy dispares e inspiración para varias generaciones de artistas. Es una de las pocas leyendas supervivientes de la Época de Oro del Cine Mexicano. Sara Montiel fue la cara más barroca y atrevida del espectáculo, gracias a sus papeles melodramáticos y a su sensual manera de cantar y vestir. Actriz de gran éxito comercial, mayormente en las décadas de 1950 y 1960, ha protagonizado o participado en unas 60 películas, varias de las cuales alcanzaron enormes recaudaciones internacionalmente. Fue la primera española en triunfar en Hollywood, donde trabajó con varias de las máximas estrellas de la época, como Gary Cooper, Burt Lancaster, Joan Fontaine, Mario Lanza, Vincent Price, Charles Bronson...

There is no denying the cultural and artistic achievements of Sara Montiel during her extensive career. She is an icon, diva and mythical figure of Spanish cinema and pop culture since the 1950s. After crossing cultural and geographical barriers during the Spanish Civil War and becoming the first Spanish woman to work in Hollywood as an actress for Warner Brothers, she returned to Spain and her fame continued to grow. With the unexpected success of her first two films The Last Couplet (1957) and The Violetera (1958), Sara revitalized the Spanish film industry in the middle of Franco's dictatorship, solidifying her presence as an acclaimed actress and singer in both Europe and Latin America. Sara's leadership and fame at this stage of Spanish cinema, along with her sensuality and artistic power, make her one of Spain's few living legends.
