How Media Should Sensitively Report On Suicide? | Feminism in India

According to data by The World Health Organisation, Every 40 seconds, one person dies by suicide globally, and a large number of these suicides occur in India. There are two aspects to this larger issue that needs to be looked closely into. One of course the incident, and issues pertaining to it, focusing on the mental health aspect rather than dismissing it. The other and probably crucial aspect is the media’s reportage of suicide.

A sensitive reporting of suicide is extremely crucial for understanding the seriousness of the issue. But how do we do that? What are the tools and resources at hand? In this FII Reports video, we take a look!
