Holt Cemetery in New Orleans
Holt Cemetery in New Orleans is the one of the only in-ground cemeteries in the area, if not the only one. Most cemeteries in New Orleans feature above the ground crypts or tombs that resemble tiny homes. Holt Cemetery, named after Dr. Joseph Holt, was established in 1879 and is considered a "Potter's Field" cemetery as in its for people that can't afford an elaborate burial.
