John Alford (BA Monash, MBA, PhD Melbourne) is Professor of Public Sector Management at the Melbourne Business School (MBS), University of Melbourne, and the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG).
His research focuses on strategic management in the public sector, contracting and partnering, public managers’ political astuteness, and client-organisation relationships.
Strategic Management in a Changing Public Sector  focuses on how to be strategic in the challenging context of today's public service. It offers frameworks and concepts for making sense of these public sector realities and shaping coherent ways of tackling them.
