Thank you for watching and see you next time! This moving optical illusion is called the Ouchi Illusion and is named after its inventor, Japanese artist Hajime Ouchi. If you move your head or the image horizontally or vertically an affect can be seen of the center circle moving or floating behind the horizontal rectangles that surround it. The Ouchi Illusion works because the pattern uses the way our eyes naturally make random tiny eye movements. Our brain interprets the quick change in direction within the pattern as a movement within the pattern itself!
