Spring is here! It's the time of year between winter and summer where the temperature, and our moods, slowly rises! This year we're determined to plant not just a flower garden, but the garden of our dreams. We spent far too long staring at grey clouds and the walls of our cabin this winter, so we need as much colour and sunshine as possible. And in order to do that, we need to build some raised garden beds, which means we finally have an excuse to use more of the lumber from our local lumber yard! And our chainsaw! We couldn't help but smile and hug each other while we did this because we were so happy in the sunshine 🌞 Even Bella and Izzy seemed so happy and excited to be out in the beautiful weather with fresh, crisp forest air! Also it's been a few weeks since we launched our podcast, @vanwivespackchat , and we've been blown away by the response. All your messages and comments you've left us have filled our hearts and you've all been so encouraging. Please keep them coming along with all your helpful tips. Speaking of, we oiled our lag bolts for our garden this year, thank you for the suggestion! Does olive oil count?! 😂 And speaking of gardens, you may be wondering what happened with our greenhouse. Turns out it's not just that we don't have green thumbs, but there were some logistical hurdles we've had to overcome. If you have any more advice or suggestions, or if you're growing a garden of your own, tell us about it below!

Our Journey! How did we get here?
In the winter of 2019 we moved in to our self built van full time to begin living, working and travelling Canada. We quickly fell in love with chasing our dreams of adventuring off the beaten path, living off grid and being self sustaining. We drove our van thousands of miles through various countries-Canada, USA, Mexico & Guatemala. All of which we documented here on our channel, be sure to check that out! After many years on the open road we found ourselves 15 acres of remote woods on the East Coast of Canada where we are building a homestead and renovating our fully off the grid cabin. We are diving into this chapter of our lives in no experience, we're so happy we can bring you all along as we learn to do it all with our own two hands.
