Lara Parker, Kathryn Leigh Scott, and Maria Wallace introduce a collection of Dark Shadows bloopers on a cable television program hosted by Matt Jerrick and broadcast in July 1993. The BetaGems channel also has "Come Die With Me 1974 TV movie Dan Curtis, George Maharis," "Nightmare At 43 Hillcrest 1974 TV Movie Dan Curtis John Karlen," "Invasion of Carol Enders 1973 Dan Curtis, Meredith Baxter, John Karlen," "Dan Curtis TV and movie commercials 1970s-1980s," "Dark Shadows 1970s TV ads products & syndication," "Dark Shadows cast 6-27-91 Frid, Parker, Leigh-Scott daytime TV," "Jonathan Frid Arsenic & Old Lace TV ad May 1987 San Diego" and clips of Leigh Scott in "June Lockhart hosts Pilot Playhouse 1992." In addition, we have "Blooper Outtakes 1-9" as well as "1980s Bloopers: My Secret Identity, Baywatch, Arsenio Hall, more," "Blooper from 1978 Bay City Rollers Meet the Saturday Superstars" "Blooper from 1970s Sid and Marty Krofft show," "Compilation of bloopers, local TV spots: Suzanne Somers, Jim Varney, more," "Adam 12 bloopers 8-18-71 Milner & McCord," "Vintage Hollywood bloopers: Reagan, Cagney, Bogart, more," "TV news bloopers 70s-80s Reagan, Sam Donaldson, more," and "1988 bloopers from Hunter TV show Fred Dryer, Stepfanie Kramer."
BetaGems are culled from an archive of over 1000 beta video tapes recorded from the early 1980s into the 1990s. Most feature live music performances broadcast on television in San Diego CA, though there are also rarely seen commercials, comedy clips, and other material that doesn't seem to be anywhere else on Youtube or online.
Most of the tapes were recorded on a Sony SL-HFT7 Super Beta Theater Hi-Fi Stereo - the same model was refurbished and is being used for these digital transfers and uploads. In rare occasions where a BetaGems clip does appear elsewhere, we're only uploading if our own beta master is better quality or contains material not seen previously. Much footage comes from public television and public access broadcasts that the taper, who worked for a local cable TV production company in the 1980s, monitored nightly for several years. Some of the programming is strictly regional, mostly from the San Diego area.
